Tertiary care hospital

Project description

A new state of the art general hospital has been planned, designed and developed.

 

The medical concept comprises of centers of excellence for

  • Accident and emergency 
  • Obstetrics and gynecology 
  • Pediatric 
  • Rehabilitation 

 

This tertiary care facility further includes imaging services, intensive care, interdisciplinary critical care, laboratory, pharmacy, morgue, etc. The hospital accommodates ~700 beds and covers 350,000 square meters of built up area including a stand-alone logistics center and two levels of underground parking.

Rehabilitation Center

Project description

The stand-alone rehabilitation center provides an overall bed capacity of 150 beds for children, adolescents, adults and elderly patients. The overall objective of the rehabilitation center is to enable people with health conditions experiencing or likely to experience disability to achieve and maintain optimal functioning in interaction with the environment. The facility is planned to be a patient – family  centered Center of Excellence

 
The medical service scope focuses on
  • Muscosceletal rehabilitation incl. trauma, fractures and amputation, post reconstructive surgery, arthritis, sport injuries, bone and muscle diseases
  • Neurological rehabilitation incl. cerebral palsy, stroke, multiple sklerosis, etc.
  • Vascular rehabilitation
  • Cardiac rehabilitation

 

The center also covers a diagnostic unit incl. x-ray, neurophysiology and cardiovascular diagnostics, and sonography. 

The therapeutic offerings include physiotherapy, occupational, speech and language, neuropsychological therapies as well as facilities for single and group therapies. 

A dedicated outpatient department caters for ambulatory patients with need for rehabilitation services

Ambulatory healthcare center

Project description

The project objective was the planning and designing of a prototype ambulatory healthcare center for each, rural and urban locations. The planning and design process were guided by the prinicples of operational efficiancy e.g. by defined flows for patients, staff and visitors, and circulation paths, flexibility in diagnostic and treatment areas.

The plannning process created a direct flow with efficient adjacencies and flexibility of room use. We accomplished to minimize the buildings footprint and parking needs while referencing local sustainability requirements.

 

The prototypes are currently under construction on 10 sites and scheduled for operation in July/ August 2015.

Long-term care facility

Project description

Our client recognized the shortage of long-term care facilities in his region and a lack of geriatric medicine in terms of service provision, facilities and physicians. In order to target this shortage, a 40 bed long-term care facility was planned, designed and constructed.
