Our history
Founding ICME
Founded in 1954, ICME was one of the first private Swiss management consulting companies. ICME is a founding member of ASCO (Swiss Association of Management Consultants, still active today with 68 company members) and sponsors a foundation for
research in enterprise management.
Expanding ICME
Increasing economic growth following the war
and the slowly changing perspective about consulting companies contributed to the immense growth of ICME and expansion of the company to 32 consultants in the 1960s.
Restructuring ICME
Recession in the following years and the consequences of the oil crisis leads to the rationalization and diminution of ICME and finally to the restructuring of the entire company in 1975. The new strategy is short term oriented and more national. The tight company structure and philosophy provided significant leverage in the following years with ICME recording an average of 43.5% growth in revenue annually.
Focusing ICME
ICME begins to focus on services rather than on industry. New Clients in various industries like telecommunication, banking, energy and utilities and even governments were targeted with success.

Immersing in healthcare
Start of the healthcare division of ICME . Start in Dortmund, then Berlin and finally Hamburg. The healthcare division of ICME is established in Dortmund, then expanding to Berlin and Hamburg
ICME taking part in CareSpan
ICME buys shares of the company CareSpan, an e-health company which is focused on digital patient care. ICME holds its shares, which doubled in value since, still today. ICME buys shares of the company CareSpan, an e-health company focused on digital patient care.

Expanding ICME
- 2007 – ICME branch office established in Hamburg with its focus on Health Care
- 2008 – ICME branch office established in Abu Dhabi, UAE due to the prestigious client relationship with “SEHA” and the AL AIN HOSPITAL project award.
- 2016 – ICME branch office established in the emerging market for health care in Kuala Lumpur, Indonesia and the establishment of ICME Invest in Zurich

Smart Care offers a fully integrated digital care solution that effectively complements local patient care with digital access to doctors, nurses and institutions. SmartCare uses the digital platform to support patients and families in their best interests. Together with the service providers, SmartCare offers the possibility of remote care and patient monitoring in nursing homes or at home.
CareSpan provides integrated digital care by implementing tailored digital healthcare solutions within the primary and preventive healthcare sector. CareSpan’s patient-centric approach to Integrated Digital Health produces better outcomes, broadens access to care, and reduces the cost of care delivery.
For more than 50 years, the ECRI has been unyielding in its work to protect patients from unsafe and ineffective medical technologies and practices. Now, with the acquisition of the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP), ECRI has created one of the largest healthcare quality and safety entities in the world. As a non-profit, independent organization, ECRI utilizes an unbiased, evidence-based approach to develop guidance, and maintain principles of integrity and transparent work.
Global partners
AINO aims to manage, steer and administer the absence rates of employees within the healthcare sector industry. The tailored SaaS solution helps organizations take leadership to new levels with positive effects on the well-being of employees as well as corporate terms. After more than 20 years of working with research centers, universities, and critical forces (Finnish military and fire departments), AINI has developed strong best practices to understand the health and well-being in organizations.
Originally founded in 1999, RSO is based on the tenet that architecture is a tool for improving people’s lives, that design, when applied with purpose and integrity, measurably improves the human situation, enhances the cultural and natural environment, and is sustainable economically can create value. RSO provides regional and international healthcare design developments, including concept, schematic and detailed design and is seen as a trusted partner of governmental and private entities.
CADUS is a non-profit and independent aid organization with headquarters in Berlin and regional offices in northern Iraq and northeast Syria. Cadus focuses on innovation, sustainability and the development of needs-based local capacities. Cooperation with local partners is particularly important to us while integrating solutions and innovations to the public.
