Customer’s vision

The Government of Kosovo has approved a financial agreement with the International Development Association to finance the Kosovo Health Project (KHP) with more than 15mio $. In 2018 this project was successfully restructured with the main targets of developing the building blocks to introduce Social Health Insurance (SHI), strengthening primary healthcare (PHC) in selected municipalities and the related project management and communications. In relation to the first objective for implementing all related structures and requirements for the planned SHI, this project was assigned for conducting Technical Assistance for hospital management modernization to Kosovo Hospital and University Clinical Services (KHUCS).

As part of the first deliverables inception report, the report on KHUCS and UCCK governance and capacity building requirements, ICME Healthcare has conducted a detailed status-quo assessment of the compound, including clinical practices, guidelines and protocols. The captured information and clinical pathways in a patient-centered approach were at this stage not defined nor documented properly. With the overarching target to improve the quality and delivery of care, the above depicted healthcare professionals have developed Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) in alignment with the service provision in KHUCS and UCCK. The Guidelines comprise of inpatient and outpatient disease patters and are inclusive of Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases. The implementation was facilitated in conjunction with a CPG committee in which KHUCS and UCCK representatives are integrated. The regular updating and further development of the CPG was first facilitated through ICME and afterwards handed over to the KHUCS and UCCK representatives.
